Moving forward, this monthly Alumni Events e-mail will be your first look at upcoming events and activities for the Coro alumni community, including opportunities...

  • To shape the future of our alumni community, like the recent Fellows Selection Day attended by nearly 80 judges from the Coro community. On May 5th and 6th, join us for our Exploring Leadership Selection event.
  • For behind-the-scenes access and thoughtful dialogue about civic issues with alumni who are leading change, like our recent Coro conversations about the Haiti earthquake and the city's workforce challenges. On April 15th, join us for a unique tour of the LIRR terminal worksite under Grand Central, led by Coro alumni working on the project.
  • To deepen the learning skills of the alumni community.  On May 22nd, join us for the Alumni Advanced Training for our immigrant programming alumni.

 

We hope to see you at an upcoming alumni event and especially the Coro Leadership dinner on May 11th where we will be honoring a member of the alumni community who is making a meaningful difference in civic life in New York City.

Help us select the next cohort for our high school youth program, Exploring Leadership. Coro alumni are invited to participate on either evening as judges who evaluate candidates in a series of group activities and individual interviews. Refreshments will be provided.

Join Alan Paskoff (LNY XVIII), Senior Vice President and Program Executive for the MTA's East Side Access system expansion project, on a tour of the future Long Island Rail Road terminal within and under Grand Central Station. 

 

The MTA is in the midst of a nearly $8 billion investment to build several miles of new tunnel in Queens and Manhattan and an eight-track train terminal, among other new infrastructure, to create a new connection for Long Island and Queens commuters that will significantly improve travel times and alleviate pressure at the crowded Penn Station.

Therefore, we are proud to invite Coro alumni from the Immigrant Civic Leadership Program (ICLP) and New American Leaders (NAL) program to our very first Alumni Advanced Training!

 

When: Saturday, May 22nd from 9:30am to 4:00pm 

with optional "networking" at a local establishment afterward
