Last year, we launched the Coro Builders and inspired over 60 alumni and friends to contribute $1,000 each year to support our programs and advance our mission. Building on this success, we are introducing the Coro Legacy, Champion and Supporter levels. More information about the giving levels and unique benefits can be found here.
This is a time of real challenges but also real opportunities for Coro. We need your support to address both as we work to ensure Coro becomes a vital civic institution.
Moody's Foundation Awards Coro $40,000
Many thanks to The Moody's Foundation for its continued support of the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs.
Through this grant, Coro will continue to offer a dynamic, experience-based, nine-month leadership program and focus on recruiting and maintaining a high level of participation among women and people of color.
Applications Open: Coro's Immigrant Civic Leadership Prog ram (ICLP)
ICLP enhances the capacity of leaders working to strengthen immigrant communities. Participants explore strategies for shaping public policies that affect New York City as a whole and immigrant communities in particular. As immigrant leaders and the institutions they lead grapple with how to leverage resources in a challenging fiscal climate, this program will help participants understand how New York City is approaching policy, budget and political decisions that affect immigrant communities and how to more effectively lead their organizations at this unique time.
Several slots are still available for the June 2009 class, and applications will be accepted through March 31, 2009.

LNY Participant Launches "Everyday NYC"
Danny Shapiro (LNY XX) recently launched a new web initiative to provide everyday New Yorkers with a better way to participate in our City's public discourse. The site is aimed to help New Yorkers to learn about the issues facing their community, share their voice on public policy issues and engage in meaningful dialogue with their elected representatives.
