bike behind-the-scenes at governor's island

Join Coro alumni for an exclusive bike tour of Governors Island led by Ellen Cavanagh (LNY XIX), Project Manager for Planning for the Governors Island Preservation and Education Corporation.

There's too much to see and do on the 172-acre island to take it all in by foot, so bring your bike or rent one there.

Come learn about what's next for this green island in the Harbor and see firsthand how it is being brought back to life as a great public space.

DATE: Friday, July 30th

TIME: 3:00pm to 5:00pm

LOCATION: Board the ferry at the Battery Maritime Building, 10 South Street, in Lower Manhattan. Meet up in parking lot 1/2 way up the hill on your left after leaving the ferry.

COST: $18 for bike rental (free if you bring your own)

Space is limited and advance RSVP is required. REGISTER NOW by emailing ecavanagh@empire.state.ny.us.

A youth farm volunteer will lead the morning tour and assign gardening work for two hours.  Afterward, Sarita will lead a tour of the market, providing the opportunity to purchase your lunch from vendors and then share in a group discussion while you eat.

Time: 10:00am to 1:30pm

Location: East New York Farms, 613 New Lots Avenue, Brooklyn
